About

Hello! My name is Tony Gemoll. My current title is Application Architect, and my current language of choice JavaScript. However if you ask my wife what I do, her answer will be: “He is a professional geek.” To some extent that is true. I attended UW-Oshkosh and received a degree in Computer Science. Technology has always been a passion of mine. I love the fact that there is so much to learn. I can just jump from one area to another and keep it fresh. I have worked with, in varying depths, the following over the years: HTML, JavaScript, C#, SQL, noSQL, XML, PHP, VB.NET and others. I tend to think of myself as a jack of all trades type of person. I know enough to talk intelligently about a lot. If required, I will take a deep dive into any area or thing. Like I said, I love to learn.

The reason for this blog is a tricky subject. While it would be cool to get some recognition from the development community, that is not my goal. The main goal is to get better at writing text. In 3rd grade I was diagnosed with severe Dyslexia. My reading and writing skills are lacking. My thinking is that when someone wants to get better in an area, they should jump in head first. If you want to learn to code, then you should code. If you want to speak German, than go to Germany. I want to get better at writing, so I am writing.

My goal is to write as much as I can. How much I write remains to be seen but I do know that I am very opinionated. I love to having discussions about pretty much anything but as far this blog goes, I will try to stick to technology and/or programming topics. So if someone does happen to read any of what I write feel free to leave a comment. I would love to have a discussion. All I ask is to keep an open mind. If you keep an open mind, I will keep an open mind. Deal? Oh and don’t let my opinionated nature scare you, opinions can change. What I think may not be the same tomorrow as it was today because I may have learned something new in between.
